Vehicle details
The third-generation Camaro became a four-seat sports coupe with a low nose, sloping rear glass and a large hatch. A redesigned body retained a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, with independent front suspension and a coil-sprung rear axle. The initial entry-level version used a throttle-body-injected 2.5-liter inline-four and a four-speed manual. V6 and V8 choices within the generation broadened its character from everyday transport to high-performance driving.
