Vehicle details
This Cavalier belonged to the fully redesigned compact front-wheel-drive body introduced for sale in 1994. The coupe used two doors and a lower roof than the sedan, with long side glass and a descending rear profile emphasizing its personal-car character. It accommodated five in front and rear seats and carried luggage in a separate trunk. The base engine for 2005 was a 2.2-liter Ecotec four-cylinder with an aluminum block and head and DOHC 16-valve construction. A five-speed manual drove the front wheels, with an automatic also available. Front struts and a rear twist-beam axle accompanied front airbags and a folding rear seat, combining basic safety and practical space in a compact body. This body family served for many years as Chevrolet’s mainstream small passenger car.
