Vehicle details
The second Corvair Sport Coupe was a two-door hardtop with a low roof and broad side glazing. The 1965 500 Sport Coupe seated five, while more expensive Monza and Corsa versions used different front-seat arrangements and equipment. An air-cooled flat-six and rear-wheel drive were retained, with a redesigned independent rear suspension replacing the previous arrangement. The standard 164-cubic-inch engine used two single-barrel carburetors and was advertised at 95 gross horsepower. This representative specification paired it with a three-speed manual, distinct from optional higher-output engines and automatic transmissions.
