Vehicle details
The C4 Convertible restored a folding roof to the two-seat Corvette after a lengthy absence. It retained a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, a low and wide body, concealed headlamps and round taillamps. A folding soft top replaced the coupe’s rear glazing for open-air driving. The standard 1996 LT1 combined a sequentially fuel-injected 5.7-liter V8 with a four-speed automatic. Independent suspension at both ends used transverse composite leaf springs, while manual versions received the differently rated LT4 engine.
