Vehicle details
The sixth-generation Corvette retained a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout in a body shorter and narrower than its predecessor. The coupe combined a removable roof panel with a luggage area accessed through the rear hatch behind its two seats. Composite exterior panels covered a hydroformed steel frame, while the transmission sat at the rear. The initial 2005-model LS2 V8 displaced 6.0 liters and produced 400 horsepower, with a six-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
