Vehicle details
This Stingray was the seventh major Corvette generation, with customer deliveries beginning in 2013. The coupe combined a long hood, a rearward two-seat cabin and a removable roof panel. An aluminum frame and carbon-fiber hood advanced its structure and exterior materials. A front-mounted 6.2-liter LT1 V8 used direct injection and variable valve timing to drive the rear wheels. The standard-exhaust 2014 version produced 455 horsepower, with an optional performance exhaust carrying a separate higher rating. A seven-speed manual included Active Rev Matching to adjust engine speed for shifts, and an automatic was also available. It combined the traditional front-engine Corvette layout with electronic controls and new materials.
