Vehicle details
HHR was Chevrolet’s retro-styled compact utility vehicle that went on sale in 2005. Its tall roof, rounded fenders and upright rear reinterpreted the character of the 1949 Suburban in a modern body. It shared its basic platform family with Cobalt but used a taller body to provide seating for five and flexible cargo arrangements. Four side doors and an upward-opening tailgate accompanied a rear seat that could fold to enlarge the load area. The base 2006 LS paired an aluminum-block-and-head 2.2-liter Ecotec four-cylinder with a five-speed manual and front-wheel drive. An optional 2.4-liter engine and automatic transmission broadened the range, combining passenger-car driving characteristics with the usefulness of a taller body.
