Vehicle details
Introduced for sale in 1999, this four-door Impala adopted a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout in place of the earlier rear-drive full-size format. A V6 and four-speed automatic served a roomy cabin and gently sloping roofline suited to family use. The base version offered a front bench seat and room for up to six occupants. The standard 2005-model 3.4-liter engine produced 180 horsepower; the same body range also included 3.8-liter and supercharged performance versions.
