Vehicle details
Introduced for sale in 2005, this Impala developed Chevrolet’s front-wheel-drive family sedan with smoother styling and a spacious cabin. A long body, separate trunk and horizontally arranged interior emphasized comfort in daily use and on longer trips. Front-seat configurations allowed seating for five or six, with four-wheel disc brakes and independent front and rear suspension. The base 3.5-liter V6 in the 2007 model used variable valve timing and sequential injection, driving the front wheels through a four-speed automatic. The LZE engine offered in certain US emissions regions could also run on E85. Practical V6 versions and a V8-powered SS shared the body family, continuing the role of the large American family sedan.
