Vehicle details
Introduced in 1969, the K5 Blazer was Chevrolet’s short-wheelbase recreational four-wheel-drive vehicle. It used a pickup-derived separate frame and axles, with space for passengers and cargo behind two side doors. An open body could be fitted with an optional hardtop, serving both utility transport and outdoor use. The original standard specification included only a driver seat, with additional seating available separately. In the 1969 250-cubic-inch inline-six version, a three-speed manual and a two-speed transfer case with low range drove all four wheels. Leaf springs at both ends and a tall body formed the basis of a model that helped establish the Blazer and recreational SUV lineage.
