Vehicle details
The original Lumina was Chevrolet’s midsize front-wheel-drive passenger car introduced in 1989. The sedan used four doors and a separate trunk, with front and rear benches accommodating six. A long wheelbase and spacious cabin continued Chevrolet’s family-car role in a front-wheel-drive format. Its engine and transaxle were mounted transversely at the front. The base 1990 model combined a throttle-body-injected 2.5-liter OHV four-cylinder with a three-speed automatic, with V6 engines and other automatic transmissions available. This passenger car had a different body architecture from the Lumina APV minivan that shared its name, and represented Chevrolet’s midsize range at the start of the 1990s.
