Vehicle details
The Traverse was Chevrolet’s three-row crossover first sold in 2008. In contrast to truck-based large SUVs, its front-drive architecture and independent front and rear suspension aimed to combine passenger-car comfort with family space. For 2010, the base configuration paired a direct-injected 3.6-liter V6 with variable valve timing, a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. The single-exhaust version produced 281 hp, and all-wheel drive was also available. Standard seating accommodated eight, with two front places and three in each rear row; optional second-row captain’s chairs produced a seven-seat layout. Both rear rows folded to create space for larger loads. Head-curtain airbags covered all three rows, accompanied by electronic stability control. Combining a large, useful cabin with passenger-car-oriented running gear, the Traverse became a central model in Chevrolet’s family-crossover range.
