Vehicle details
Vega was Chevrolet’s small rear-wheel-drive passenger car introduced in fall 1970. The basic passenger Vega had two doors and a separate trunk. A luggage compartment below the rear window accompanied front and rear seats for four. Its longitudinal 140-cubic-inch four-cylinder used an aluminum block and an overhead camshaft. The base 1971 engine paired a single-barrel carburetor with a three-speed manual, with a two-barrel engine and other transmissions available. A shorter body and four-cylinder powertrain offered an alternative to larger American cars for everyday transport.
