308 GTB is a two-seat mid-engined coupe with a wedge-shaped body and fixed roof. Its transversely mounted, naturally aspirated 2,926 cc V8 uses four Weber carburettors and produces 255 CV in this specification. A five-speed manual gearbox drives the rear wheels, with independent suspension at all four corners. Retractable headlamps, side intakes behind the doors and a low roof define the design. It measures 4,230 mm long, 1,720 mm wide and 1,120 mm high, combining compact proportions with an engine behind the cockpit.
