Vehicle details
Introduced in 1985, the Aerostar is a minivan combining a wedge-shaped aerodynamic body with rear-wheel drive. Two front seats and rear bench seating provide room for five or seven, depending on configuration. A sliding side door and an upward-opening rear hatch accommodate passengers and luggage. The standard 1987 wagon uses a port-electronic-fuel-injected 3.0-liter V6 and a five-speed manual overdrive transmission. Coil springs at all four corners and gas-pressurized shock absorbers balance ride comfort and load carrying. Power rack-and-pinion steering and a range of seating and interior convenience features make it suitable for family travel and recreational equipment.
