Vehicle details
Introduced in 1983, the Bronco II was Ford’s compact SUV, developed separately from the larger Bronco. Ranger-based engineering underpinned a short body with two side doors, large rear quarter windows and an upward-opening tailgate. A fixed roof enclosed the passenger compartment rather than the larger Bronco’s removable rear roof. The front-mounted V6 connects to a manual gearbox and two-speed transfer case, providing rear-wheel drive on roads and four-wheel drive when required. A frame, coil-sprung front suspension and leaf-sprung rear suspension supported both everyday travel and outdoor use. Folding the rear seat expanded the load space within its compact exterior.
