First sold in 2006, the Edge is a midsize crossover with two seating rows and a generous cargo area. A three-bar chrome grille, tall body and rear spoiler define its appearance. The 2007 SE uses a 3.5-liter Duratec 35 V6 and a six-speed automatic transmission, with front-wheel drive as standard. Independent front and rear suspension, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, and stability and roll-control systems support its road manners. The rear seatbacks recline and fold flat in a 60:40 split, allowing the cabin to adapt between passenger and luggage duties. Available features such as a large panoramic roof and all-wheel drive extend its usefulness for everyday journeys and leisure travel.
