Vehicle details
Launched in 2014, this F-150 generation combines an aluminum-alloy body and load box with a high-strength steel frame. The Regular Cab places a short, two-door passenger compartment with one seating row ahead of an open bed, leaving space for work loads. The 6.5-foot-bed version has a shorter wheelbase and overall length than the long-bed truck. Its base 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V6 uses a six-speed automatic, with rear-wheel drive in the 4x2 configuration. Independent double-wishbone front suspension uses coil springs, while variable-rate leaf springs support the rear. The same generation also offered 2.7- and 3.5-liter EcoBoost engines, a 5.0-liter V8 and larger SuperCab and SuperCrew bodies for different work and leisure uses.
