Vehicle details
The third Focus generation was developed under Ford’s global product strategy and entered series production in late 2010. Its five-door hatchback body combines four side doors with an upward-opening rear hatch for carrying passengers and luggage. A transverse front engine drives the front wheels, with gasoline and diesel powertrains offered in different markets. Brazil’s 1.6 Sigma Ti-VCT version uses an inline-four flex-fuel engine that can run on gasoline or ethanol. It is paired with a five-speed manual, while separate 2.0-liter and PowerShift automatic versions broadened the range. A sedan was also offered, but the shorter rear body and lifting hatch define the hatchback’s versatility.
