Vehicle details

Introduced in 2004, this Focus is a compact hatchback with a wider body and roomier cabin than its predecessor. Its body has two long side doors and an upward-opening rear hatch, with a steeply raked windscreen and tall rear lamps following the rear pillars. Independent Control Blade rear suspension manages wheel movement and road impacts. In the 2007 UK LX, the 1.6-liter Duratec petrol engine is a 16-valve DOHC inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The same body range also offered Ti-VCT petrol engines with variable intake and exhaust valve timing and common-rail diesels. Sedan, estate and high-performance ST versions complemented the standard hatchback range with different forms and characters.
