Vehicle details
Entering production in 2014, this Mustang retained the long bonnet, short rear body and three-part tail lamps of its predecessors while adopting a configuration aimed at a wider global audience. The fastback has a fixed roof that flows into the rear body and a four-seat cabin. Double-ball-joint MacPherson-strut front suspension is paired with an integral-link independent rear suspension. The European GT uses a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 with variable cam timing and a six-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels. Availability in both left- and right-hand drive expanded the reach of a model previously centred on North America.
