Vehicle details
Production of this Taurus sedan began in 1999. It retained rounded styling while reshaping the roof and rear body to improve cabin space and luggage convenience. Its four-door unitized body uses MacPherson strut front suspension and an independent Quadralink rear layout. The 2003 LX drives the front wheels through a 12-valve OHV 3.0-liter V6 and an electronically controlled four-speed automatic overdrive transaxle. Six-passenger seating includes a folding front center seating console and a column-mounted shifter. Power windows, air conditioning and power rack-and-pinion steering are standard. It is a practical American midsize sedan suited to family travel and everyday business use.
