Vehicle details
Introduced to customers in 2009, this Taurus is a full-size sedan with a high beltline and substantial body proportions. Front bucket seats and a split-folding rear seat combine passenger accommodation with flexible use of the trunk. The 2013 model refreshed the front and rear styling and added electric power steering and cornering-control functions. In the base SE, a 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V6 independently varies intake and exhaust valve timing and drives the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. Independent MacPherson-strut front and multilink rear suspension support the body, with disc brakes at all four wheels. The SHO shares the sedan body but pairs a twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 with all-wheel drive for stronger performance.
