Vehicle details
Introduced in 1991, this Taurus continues the original model’s smooth aerodynamic form while revising the headlamps and rear styling. The wagon extends its roof rearward and uses a tailgate for cargo access, with independent short- and long-arm rear suspension. The 1994 US GL’s 3.8-liter V6 uses sequential electronic fuel injection and an electronically controlled four-speed automatic overdrive transaxle. Its unitized body has independent strut-type front suspension, while GL brakes combine front discs with rear drums. Alongside the regular GL and LX, the high-performance SHO uses a separate 24-valve DOHC engine and a more sporting specification. The range emphasizes space and convenience for family transport and everyday business use.
