Vehicle details
First sold in 2001, this Thunderbird revives the original model’s two-seat open-car layout. Round headlamps, smooth bodywork and a removable hardtop with small circular windows give it a distinctive appearance. A folding soft top enables open-air driving, while the hardtop creates a different coupe-like profile. The 2002 US specification pairs a 3949 cc DOHC V8 with four valves per cylinder and a five-speed automatic transmission. Independent rear suspension and 17-inch wheels accompany trunk space intended for two-person touring. Its long hood, compact cabin and clean rear profile reinterpret the traditional personal convertible.
