Introduced in 2001, Lavita was Hyundai’s compact multipurpose passenger car, sold internationally as Matrix. A body about four meters long combined a high roof with a 2,600mm wheelbase to provide useful passenger space within a small footprint. Four side doors and a rear hatch provide access to the cabin and luggage area, with drive going to the front wheels. The Korean 1.5-liter gasoline configuration used a 1,495cc inline-four with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
