The 924 is a transaxle sports coupe with a front-mounted water-cooled inline-four and a gearbox near the rear axle. Its low nose and rear glass hatch establish a different layout from Porsche’s rear-engine sports cars. The base model in the French-language manufacturer technical sheet uses a 1,984 cc engine with K-Jetronic injection, producing 92 kW or 125 PS. A four-speed manual drives the rear wheels.
